XProtect® Mobile App Reviews

Anyone who has dealt with other IP Camera software will find this easy to use and integrates with Essential wonderfully. Bonus is that its a FREE product! Keep up the good work Milestone!

The software works exactly as stated, even better. I have tested a lot of iPhone / iPad accessible NVRs and this is by far the greatest. I do think the video in the demo is looped but once setup on your own Milestone NVR you can test yourself. Simple and fast to setup.

Finally works excellent. After we figured out you must use a port not 80. Thank you Milestone XProtect Mobile does not work at all. They only give you a working demo the configured them self’s. I tried every thing and spent hours and hours trying to make it work. Unfortunately it did not work it waste of time. I hope Milestone System writ good help documentations. I will give the review a zero (0) until Milestone System fix the problem. Im running Milestone XProtect Essential 2.0b.

My company has spent countless hours and dollars on this app. No one can get it to work and appears to be the app (four different IT companies concur). Is it going to work or do I give this up? This is the main reason my company purchased the iPad for me.

First of all, you need to have the Xprotect software driving your security system. Secondly port forwarding has to be enabled. The ap has worked perfectly from everywhere I have traveled; Europe, Asia and South America. Enough said.

Great app...better than the other free CCTV viewing apps out there. I like the interface better than most...

Its a great app compared to many other, but one very important missing part is support for audio. I am using this app to connect to two different xprotect servers in different regions. So far i havnt faced any issues. But I wish they add audio support.

This is a great app. My office loves its functionality. My detectives would love to see audio support in the next release.

Its a good app, seems to work well. Not sure why you cant delete the demo site (which doesnt connect). Would really like to see audio support and iPhone 5 support.

This app is ok but it would be nice to be able to select cameras from a text list as when loading them by view can overload a phone when you have hundreds of cameras. Also it would be nice if carousel was supported on mobile.

Audio would make it great but the improved master / slave combo in one server view is a nice enhancement!!

Id give it five stars if there would have been sound support. I have 6 high-end Axis cameras, one of them supports sound (M5014). My server recognizes the mic. But this app has no audio support (i have to use LiveCams Pro to hear the sound). Hey Milestone, can you please add audio feature?

Works well, however it does have issues connecting every once in a while while the web interface for the same camera has none. Also can we get an update for iPhone 6 and up.

Great app for live & playback, except there is one flaw and I am puzzled why the app developers have not fixed it yet: the menu bars at the top and bottom cover part of the video image. They are semi transparent. Instead, these menu bars should auto-hide, as is common practice for video player apps. Then we would be able to see the full image and simply tap the screen to get the menu bars. So right now this app is only good for viewing 80% of your camera display.

The app works just fine. Set it up today in our office for a demo. The other reviews saying it doesnt work clearly didnt install it right on the server side. Still no hiding of the top menu bar. Come on this is so annoying

Ever since I updated the app, I get cannot verify identity when using secure connection. Please fix this. It only works if I disable secure connection.

Desperately need to add option to ignore invalid certificate warning. App is broken as it is now.

Fix this please I have 263 cameras I view and now cannot verify server identity? Why screw it up?

Worked fine with Secured connection prior with a UCC certificate. Now Purchased separate Cert just for this and created per in article, and same error internal and external! I Thought Everyone is currently being told to Secure things these days, this Does Not Let You Run Secure

Since upgrading from 2014 to 2016, I constantly recieve an error that warns "Cannot verify sever identity" then it disconnects. My SSL certificate is valid and accepted by all browsers. This is a known issue of the forums. please fix this
